Shortage of beds delays operations in Mallorca

At least 12 operations were suspended at Son Espases hospital earlier this week because of a shortage of beds.    Staff dealt with 472 emergency cases on Monday alone – that´s 6 percent more than last week.    More than 30 extra staff have been employed at Son Espases and Son Llatzer hospitals to deal with the influx of patients suffering from severe flu and other illnesses.
