VÏBES BY QUINCE, Porto Cristo
International cuisine in seaview setting
2018, Oct 15th
Porto Cristo is the home of Vïbes by Quince, opened this year as the sister restaurant of the port’s popular Quince and 15teen Cantina and Garden, in nearby Porto Cristo Novo.
The newest of the Oceantwins Group restaurants is on the seafront at first-floor level, with great views over the sheltered Porto Cristo bay. The restaurant offers various seating options: a few tables across the seafront road on the promenade; raised front terrace overlooking the sea; spacious enclosed rear courtyard (without views), and the dining room itself.
Vïbes by Quince’s stylish design was the creation of the owner himself, who worked in some of Mallorca’s top restaurants before becoming a restaurateur. The décor sets the place apart from the restaurant’s neighbouring establishments.
Come for coffee, other drinks, lunch or dinner; the à la carte menu fuses international and island cuisines. Starters are generous – perfect for sharing – and include dishes such as mussels and clams in Red Thai curry; international street food, Iberian ham with selection of cheeses, and my favourite – the do-it-yourself guacamole. All the prepared ingredients are in the mortar and you mash them yourself with the pestle. It’s great fun for any kids, who will also appreciate having their own choice of dishes designed for them.
The menu includes salads, fish – including fish of the day, meat, pastas, a choice of gourmet pizzas and, of course, desserts. Vïbes by Quince also offers speciality coffees, as the Oceantwins Group has an award-winning barista.
Like its two sister restaurants, this one has a well-trained friendly service team, who make eating out here a memorable experience. Be sure to book if you want to feel the good vibes at Vïbes by Quince.
