A Surgeon In Mallorca Is Warning British Holiday Makers About The Dangers Of Balcony Stunts
A surgeon in Mallorca is warning British holiday makers about the dangers of balcony stunts. The practice is also known as balconing – when people jump or cross from one balcony to another. Dr Juan José Segura Sampedro works in the trauma unit at Son Espases Hospital and says he treats 10-15 British victims a year who are killed or suffer serious head or spinal injuries. The UK Foreign Office has teamed up with the surgeon to make a public safety campaign of video messages for tourists heading to the Balearics this summer. The videos have been viewed almost 750,000 times.
