Thief Jailed For Robbing More Than A Dozen Shops & Houses In Calvià

A man has been jailed for allegedly robbing more than a dozen shops and houses in Calvià.   Police launched a search for the suspect after a number of complaints from people in Paguera and Santa Ponça but were only able to identify him after was caught on CCTV.     Valuables that were stolen during the robberies have been returned to their owners.


A Judge Has Sent A 35-Year-Old British Bouncer To Prison

A judge has sent a 35-year-old British bouncer to prison, he’s accused of fatally assaulting Irish tourist Aaron Henderson outside Mulligans Bar in Magaluf.  Sources say there was an altercation between the two outside the bar, and Henderson was later found unconscious and taken to Son Espases Hospital where he died from his injuries.  A second man was also arrested in connection with Henderson’s death and was released with charges.  The father of the deceased says his son’s body will return to Coleraine, Ireland today and the funeral service will take place on Wednesday.


A Surgeon In Mallorca Is Warning British Holiday Makers About The Dangers Of Balcony Stunts

A surgeon in Mallorca is warning British holiday makers about the dangers of balcony stunts.  The practice is also known as balconing – when people jump or cross from one balcony to another.  Dr Juan José Segura Sampedro works in the trauma unit at Son Espases Hospital and says he treats 10-15 British victims a year who are killed or suffer serious head or spinal injuries.  The UK Foreign Office has teamed up with the surgeon to make a public safety campaign of video messages for tourists heading to the Balearics this summer.  The videos have been viewed almost 750,000 times.


70 People Rescued From Tourist Catamaran In Bay of Palma

Seventy people were rescued from a tourist catamaran in the Bay of Palma on Friday night.  The crew of “Magic U” called the Maritime Service when the boat started to take on water, and two boats were dispatched to collect the passengers who were unharmed.  An investigation has found the boat was damaged when it collided with rocks, likely due to a navigational error.


Police Are On The Look Out For A Gang Of Luxury Watch Thieves

Police are on the look out for a gang of luxury watch thieves operating in Portals, Calviá and Port d’Andratx.  At least nine cases of robberies or attempted robberies have been reported in the past week.  Victims say the thieves are working in car parks and also keeping an eye on customers of luxury stores and drivers of high end vehicles.
