Maria Mazzotta, with her album Onde, is the winner of the National City of Loano Prize for Traditional Italian Music, the most prestigious for traditional music in Italy, awarded annually to the best folk music production by a jury of over fifty journalists and specialized scholars. Onde, released on 23 April 2024, was created with Ernesto Nobili and Cristiano Della Monica and produced by the Puglia record label Zero Nove Nove.

Maria Mazzotta is one of the most intense voices on the European music scene in the world. On her latest album, her visceral interpretation meets the electric sounds of post-rock, creating an original and profound union. Onde contains twelve tracks, which also feature international guests: the Nigerian guitarist and singer-songwriter Bombino and the trumpeter Volker Goetze. This is the album in which, for the first time in her twenty-year career, Maria Mazzotta chooses to express the vital and sincere force of rural tradition through contemporary instruments with a suburban flavor.

With this project, the singer and composer from Pulla expresses courage and freedom, those of a woman who travels from the main European capitals such as Paris and Barcelona to the main global cities such as Jakarta and Bogota, always taking the stage, accompanied by both her fragility and her strength.
