Urgent Warning Issued After 39 People Contract The Norovirus

The Spanish Food Safety Agency has issued an urgent warning about frozen mussels after 39 people contracted the Norovirus.   The agency says the illness is connected to the Estrella Polar frozen packs of cooked mussels with a lot numbers 010DOP-18 or 015DOP-18, with a use by date of January 2020.    The product has been distributed across mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands as well as Italy and Portugal.  The Norovirus causes diarrhoea and vomiting and anyone who develops symptoms is advised to wash their hands regularly, stay at home and drink plenty of fluids.
